Harry Styles. I'm pretty sure there isn't a person alive who isn't in love with him at least a little bit, I know I am. When his music video for Watermelon Sugar came out in May, I was obsessed. I am truly in awe of the person who came up with the concept for the Watermelon Sugar video and I immediately began thinking up my own version of it. I texted my friend Lydia who is always so fun to photograph because she will do absolutely anything and we decided to do the shoot at Lake Acworth to get those fun, beachy vibes without the drive to the ocean. I cut up a watermelon and grabbed all the other fruit we had in the fridge. On the way to the lake, we stopped by Target and picked up some fun heart shaped glasses from the dollar section (which I will be wearing without shame for the foreseeable future).
We, unfortunately, aren't Harry Styles so we couldn't get a private beach. The little strip of sand was full of people swimming and lounging and it was definitely a little awkward to show up in full photoshoot mode, especially as I asked Lydia to eat a watermelon "seductively". We got more than one weird look, and even got asked if our shoot was for a magazine. The end result was SO worth it though. This shoot was everything I wanted it to be. These photos are the perfect image of summer vibes and I am so in love.
