One of the greatest skills you can have as a photographer is the ability to pivot when things don't work out. Lydia and I set out to go some sun drenched golden photos, but after driving around rural Georgia looking for a place we wanted to take them, we completely missed golden hour. I was determined to get some photos that evening though, so we headed back to Athens and decided to try one last field, one we'd shot at before but didn't have the tall grass we'd been looking for. Much to our delight, we found the field completely overgrown and exactly what we wanted in the first place. By that time though the sun had almost entirely set. Although we'd had a different outfit planned for our original idea, we'd also happened to grab this pretty tulle skirt I'd snagged for only $20 over the summer. I knew they dusty pink color would work perfectly for what turned out to be a dreamy blue hour photoshoot. Lydia saw the skirt as an almost continuation of her body and so we went for a natural, peaceful, ethereal feeling. Sometimes the photos you set out to take are not the ones you get, but usually you get something just a beautiful.
